The Pro Waterski Committee has finalized the "Waterski Pro Tour and point framework" rules, and is proposing an update version for our approval. The revised document can be found at:

Corey Vaughn comments: It looks like this group has put in serious time and work to address the various concerns that arose from their first proposal. I really believe this is something to be excited about and will foster the current momentum that waterskiing has generated. This Pro Tour creates something that has been desperately lacking in our sport. Imperfections may remain, however, any flaws can be improved and updated year by year in a process of building and growth. To me, this is a strong starting point. 

I strongly encourage this committee to back this proposal.

Manon Costard comments: Hi all, I hope everyone can get behind this new sets of rules. It is an improvement on the previous Elite Point System and will refresh the Pro branch of waterskiing.

We have had a lot of positive feedback on this from skiers, organisers and IWWF members. The rules have been adapted according to the constructive comments that have been made.  

We will, of course, be reviewing this set of rules on a yearly basis in order to modify/adjust the details depending on the needs each season might highlight.

Dana Garcia comments: I am voting Yes. I still have concerns with the number of events required to tally a skier’s Pro Point total; some skiers are not able to travel as much as others. We are conditioned to the ½ rule for Elite Points, and the new system is calculated on scale of ½ Plus 1 with a few exceptions. For example 7 events per year would necessitate a skier attending 5 events. I am also concerned that if the number of events are not enough, the women will be required to travel overseas for $9k cash prize events. On the positive side, Freddie W. has provided me a detailed explanation of how the Pro Tour Committee will be chosen and explained the role of IWWF. I had assumed this Pro Tour was a separate entity from IWWF & WSC with zero oversight, and I was unclear how the Committee would be selected moving forward. Those questions have been answered, and I am comfortable putting my support behind this proposal.
