Bob and Donal have been working on the end course tracking system requirements, please vote if you approve the documents.

Requirements for RTK system for boat path measurement
1.	Demonstration of positional accuracy (verification against video system)
2.	Demonstration of proper boat path rule execution based on maximum deviation at each buoy +/- 10m. (maximum deviation is average of 2 greatest samples in the +/- 10 m segment)
a)	at end of run report any 20 cm violations and which buoy(s)
b)	at end of run report any cumulative error and at which buoy(s)
3.	Data recorded and stored including date, site, tourcode, driver name, skier name/speed/rope length for later presentation and analysis and/or record verification
4.	Defined set-up procedure and test paths verifying accuracy and polarity.
5.	Verify RTK GPS against survey data
Slalom
After each setup, the distances (length and width between endgates) should be calculated by the GPS system and compared with the survey 
Tolerances for differences to be decided
Jump
After each setup, the distances ST15-ET15 and ST19-ET19 (or whatever buoys are required to map the course) should be calculated by the GPS system and compared with the survey

6.	All data produced and recorded by the system is the property of IWWF and will be made freely available to the IWWF.

Candido Moz comments: From one of the GPS makers, regarding point 6, I got the following reply:
All data collected will remain the property of the software’s copyright holder (as is normal with any software that is not specifically commissioned). That said, there would of course be a no cost perpetual licence granted to IWWF for use of the data for the purposes of monitoring and adjudicating boat (and driver) behaviour during sanctioned tournaments. In addition, the licence would allow the data to be made available post tournament for the purposes of scrutineering events and the verification of records.

Me and Bob believe that: if IWWF has unrestricted perpetual use then it doesn\'t really matter who owns it as long as the license cannot be revoked.

If the software provided by any third party is paid with a licence (like software as a service), then all collected data should be the property of IWWF. If the software provided is free, then I agree with Candidos last comment.
