I got the following requests from AWSA, please comment

I know that most of the Southern Regional handle checkers block are approx 9cm.  This is what the AWSA Tech Control Committee came up with and it is in the AWSA Rule Book.
This came from testing curved handles.  It was felt that if the block was 2 cm or smaller, it was to small for curved handles (didn't keep the curved handle and in some case straight handles parenthetical on the handle checker, especially when the bridle isn't truly square).  In-additional, it was determine that on curved handles, the center (4cm each side of center) did not provide an advantage (as far as handle length) to the skier, since that portion not really used.
This is one of the rules that don't really fall under as an Administrative RULE.  So, In-lieu of changing all the AWSA Handle checker or AWSA Rule book at this time, can we just add comment in the TC Report, since this does not effect skier performance/results?

I resubmit the rule request again next yr, changing the requirement to "approx 2cm with MAX 9 cm" (keeping it simple without anyone having to change handle checkers).

Or can AWSA get a rule exception for 2020?

Larry Gisler comments: The last decision for a handle measure , need do it by the homologator , follow IWWF rules and dimension .

Nigel Talamo comments: The diagram in the IWWF rulebook shows where the handle should be measured from, ie from the inside of the handle and within 1cm either side of the centre of the handle. It is up to the homologator to ensure dimensions are correct using whatever device, tool, measuring equipment that he/she has that day at that site.
