In our video conference discussion we wanted to know how the best score in an R tournament for U17 compared to the U17 records achieved only at the U17 World Championships.

Christophe Duverger comments: hello everybody,
my opinion is that top athletes (U17 or others)  are consistent...the skiers always go to championships in a different set of mind than RC competitions (expectations goals etc..) so they are differences in the results but they can be explained...
the real difference, the ones that are hard to explain, are for the lower ranked skiers...and more in jump and slalom... because the conditions in slalom and jump are very different from lake to lake...
it has always been that way....it just show that if you are trying to go to the U17 Worlds or a other one, and you are in the middle of the pack trying to qualify, you better choose your tournaments carefully...because even if you are consistent at your level, you will not do the same performance everywhere!....because people who organize there competitions don\'t put the same effort in the quality of there site...

I believe you are missing some results. In under 17s may 16 2010 I jumped 47.8m which is bigger than Lauren Morgan\'s jump in this division. I foubd this result on the under 21 ranking list as it was done in May still as under 17 but the October list doesn\'t reflect this. This is one example so there may be others that fall in this loop hole?

Bob Corson comments: Jacinta, your yob is 1992.  In 2010 the qualifying yob for U17 is 1993 and greater.

but please remember that last year it has been posted on IWWF site:
05Aug18 Patricio Font MEX tricks 10790 for a new Junior World Trick record at the World Junior Championships in Spain.
We must be consistent we cannot announce 10790 points as the new U-17 World record and then set as the basic record 11340 points.
Up to now all best championships performance have been considered as world record.
