Here is the issue


I have created a new presentation of the ranking list.  The presentation is based on a weekly publication of the list.  The list is created each Tuesday at noon.  Each weekly list is saved and available for viewing.  The list can be presented by country, region, sub-region, or individual.  This gives a more detailed historical record of each skier's rankings than the twice yearly publication.

Hannu Rintanen comments: As a quick look the main page and some special features as well, it looks ok for me. One step ahead to have a ranking list what many other sports have. Nice idea to have it this way. Just a question, will this be the only method to have our ranking lists or by another format?

Corey Vaughn comments: That is a nice looking presentation. I think the key will be making that page easy to navigate to. A lot of folks complain that the lists are hard to find. Making it easy to get to this page will allow people to enjoy using it. If nobody can find this page, it doesn\'t matter how nice it is.

Bob Corson comments: To Hannu:  I see this as an additional presentation.  The TC might think about timing and deadlines.  It always seems wrong when we have a Worlds in December or January we are using the most recently published list which till now has been the May list.
To Cory: A very interesting comment.  Do you have any suggestions on how to make it more accessible.  The current lists have their own web site iwsftournament.com and they are referenced on the TC website iwsf.com and the IWWF web site iwwfed.com.

Bob Corson comments: One aspect of this presentation is that it comprised of all of the tournaments submitted before Tuesday and not all performances before Tuesday.  Tournaments still have 30 days (in the Rules) to submit the data.  I would say a large majority of weekend tournaments are submitted on Monday but that does make this list a little different from the November and May lists.

Bruce Cockburn comments: Bob new list look great the problem is how we use this for entry to World Championships if the list is not reflective of scores up to the weekend before the list can we use it as the list for selection into Worlds
or how can we make it reflective of tournaments within the cut off date
would it be better to use Friday as the date this would give tournaments a few more days to summit there tournament scores I know in Australia scores are rarely summit before Tuesday

Bob Corson comments: The list reflects a capture of the dynamic list on Tuesday.  If there is a concern about tournaments missing the Tuesday deadline, just expand the cut-off date by one week.  This is a new tool and we just have to consider how to use it most effectively.

Corey Vaughn comments: At IWSF.com when you click the first link under \"World Ranking List\" titled \"Water Ski\" it takes you to a menu of ranking lists from 2007 and older. Perhaps that link could go to this new presentation. Then, the older ranking lists could be available somewhere else, as they are nice records, but I doubt that anybody is really interested in following them anymore. In other words, they should be available to find, but the new presentation is much more relevant and should inhabit the prime real estate. it is displaying a list from last year at the moment
year 2000 are still in the Junior list and scores from November on are not on it

Bob Corson comments: I switched out of test mode which was pointing to the November database and now the programs are pointing to the current dynamic database.  I did a data pull for a list today so the data should now be current.  I will delete the first two lists as they were in the test phase.

Bruce Cockburn comments: On another note we need to decide when the cut off is for entry into Worlds
we have 2 World titles this year the Junior Worlds in August
and the 35+ Worlds in November
will we be using the April 30 date for these Worlds or will we have a different date as the cut off
we need to decide as it is only couple of months until April 30
for the Junior worlds April 30 is a reasonable date it is 4 months before the tournament
I have chosen 4 months because that is 1 month more the the closing of the intent to enter countries will need to know who is ranked so they can complete their intent to enter
