We have been asked by the scorer about event qualifications.
In the rulebook, it says:
The 5 Wild Card entries and 5 65+ Wild Card entries must meet the minimum criteria to ski.
For Team skiers, there is a minimum for each event in a table and it says
These minima must have been achieved in each event in which the skier is entered.  It also says in the Team skier section:
Skiers who are qualified in two events may be entered in the third event if they have achieved the minimum of the next older age group.
Further, it says:
Federations not having skiers who have achieved any of these minima shall, nevertheless, have the right to enter one skier Man or Woman in each age category. 

The issue at hand is that in the entry section it says:
Skiers not selected for their national teams may qualify to compete in the 35+, 45+, 55+ and 65+ World Championships per the Placement Eligibility Chart (Diagram 10) 
It makes no mention if these skiers must met the minimum criteria.  It turns out that many skiers in the 35+ categories in the top 15 in overall have performances below the minimum required for team skiers.

It seems that since the minimum requirement is explicitly stated for team  and the minimum requirement is specifically excluded for Federations without any skiers meeting them and the minimum is not mentioned regarding the standing list entries (that I can see) that we should allow any skier qualifying by list position to ski in what they qualified in.

Please vote Yes if you agree or No if you disagree.  Please vote promptly as the tournament is next week.  As I understand it, this only involves a small number of entries.

Bob Corson comments: I think if we want to change it to everyone must qualify in every event they ski in, then we can amend the rules for the next 35+ tournament to explicitly cover the ranking list entrants.

Gill Hill comments: For information, I had a similar problem 4 years ago.  The rules need a careful look at for next time.   In the meantime i agree that the LIST position appears to be a separate qualification and not subject to the team skier minima.
